How To Start A Blog

I started my blog on a whim one day in 2016 when I was stuck at home, bedridden with a concussion. Not sure what to expect, and without a clue what I was doing – but I started.

With blogging, you completely start from the bottom: square one. Personally, I knew nothing about blogging. Absolutely nothing. I have a friend who’s a YouTuber and does some vlogging as well, so that was basically the extent of my knowledge of this whole world on the Internet.

It all started with my obsession with Instagram, and seeing all of these mommy bloggers and their adorable kids and their sponsored posts – I’d love to be able to stay home like that with my kids (when I have them) and still make an income some day.

So I began following some of their blog posts, and they were great and all, but I wanted a little more than just some “day in the life” posts to read.

Through Instagram, and eventually Pinterest, I found this crazy world of blogs. And I loved reading other people’s posts.

In comes my third major concussion, leave from work, and the start of Maybe Jamie! The very first post I wrote explains how my blog came about.

But before my website launched, a looooooot (see how many o’s there are!?) of research was put in on how the hell to make a website. It was a lot of work and a lot of time, but with all my time off, I put in the effort and out came this little lovely blog Maybe Jamie!

Spring Home Decor Hacks

I’ve always wanted to revamp the look of our living room area, but haven’t had the budget or really any idea on what the heck to even do!

One of the easiest ways I’ve found to decorate is to go with the seasons. And Spring is just upon us!
