With my first year of University recently coming to a close, I’ve learned the items that are absolutely necessary to have in college, and the ones that are a waste of money.

Going back to school was a huge decision for me, and I’m so glad that I did.

It’s super exciting starting college, yet that excitement can cause you to buy a whole bunch of supplies that you don’t really need.

Back at the beginning of the school year, I put together 10 Must Haves for College. Definitely go check out that post because I still agree that everything on that list was helpful throughout the school year.

Of course it varies with what school you’re going to and what program you’re taking, but in general terms, I’ve come up with the essential items that I personally used a lot, as well as the items that have just been a waste of money and you should skip out on.

With these cold winter months upon us, tons of people choose to jet set away to a warmer (tropical!) climate. And man am I ever envious of you right now.

So far we have no plans to head out this winter, as we have to save up for a destination wedding we’re attending next year. But you can bet I will have all of these products when I set off!

Now, vacations are expensive enough as it is, but there’s a few items that just make the whole experience more enjoyable, y’know? Some of these products are just for fun, some are realistic and practical, and some are just life savers.

So if you’ve got a tropical vacation upon you, buckle up your seat-belts (and put your tray tables up) cause here are the essentials you will need.

Stay tuned until the end of the post for an ultimate checklist to use for packing as well as tips to prep for your vacay!

Kitchen Items You Actually Need

When you’re moving out for the first time, you’re going to need a few things for your new place. And the room in your new home that definitely needs some items is the kitchen. You can’t do much in your kitchen without a few things.

But, the kitchen is also the area people tend to go overboard on when shopping for new items. There are so many gadgets and kitchen things that stores convince you that you absolutely need, when in reality, you really don’t need that much.

Sure, some stuff is handy to have, but when you’re in a small apartment (which is likely for your first home), cupboard and storage space for the kitchen is usually very minimal.

So with moving out a year and a half ago, going way overboard the first time, and having to downsize my kitchen items after moving into an even smaller kitchen this past August, I’ve figured out what’s really necessary to have in your cooking space (and what’s not.)

Camping Essentials

With this abnormally beautiful weather we’re having, looks like camping season may begin earlier than we expected. And I am not complaining!

Basically every weekend in the summer we’re out camping. Whether it’s just a small campground fifteen minutes from home, a lake hours away, we find a place to pitch the tent and pull out the beer. There’s something so relaxing about camping – I mean, after the hour and half it takes to unload the truck, set up the tent & everything inside.

But still, sitting in a lawn chair, cold drink in hand, absorbing what the outdoors has to offer (preferably sunshine for me please), there’s just something about it.

Though it’d be great just to get out and go, there’s a few necessities you need to pack along with you.
